Child Care Post Pandemic: The Impact of New Federal Funding on New York State.Among the topics discussed were regulatory changes to the child care subsidy program grants to help stabilize the child care field and improve program quality, while also growing supply and continuing supports for essential workers needing child care. This session provided an overview of current uses to which these critical funds are being put, and what the field and local districts can look forward to in the future. With the passage of the federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act in December 2020, and the American Rescue Plan Act in March 2021, $2.2 billion of new, one-time funding has been allocated to New York State expressly for child care.
